Collective Worship
Collective worship plays an important role in the development of children at our school. We base our themes for worship around our six key values combined with a focused book. Every week starts with a whole school assembly which is followed up in class the following day. There is a whole school hymn practice every Wednesday and SLT lead worship on a Thursday. Friday's assembly is focused around celebrating good work and behaviour.
We also worship in church four times a year to celebrate the festivals of Harvest, Christmas and Easter and at the end of the school year. These services are open to families and members of the wider community. We take great pride in the fact that our collective worship activities are both distinctively Christian and inclusive. We always strive to promote the shared values and beliefs of the different faiths represented at our school, rather than focusing on the differences between them.
We say our school prayer at the end of every act of worship:
God of love turn our hearts to your ways and give us peace.
Peace in our world,
Peace in our school,
Peace in our hearts.
